Financial Literacy in Action
Class 6 pupils began their financial literacy activities with a European Currencies Quiz. They enjoyed recalling which countries use the Euro and which still have their own money. Some shared memories of family trips abroad, remembering how their parents compared prices and how they still keep magnets and souvenirs from those journeys. They created an infographic about our banknotes and explained who appears on each. Afterwards, they completed a questionnaire and showed how they spend and save money. They discussed how much money they usually get and spend in a month, and they realised that some receive more for birthdays or hobbies, while many mostly spend their parents’ money on things like sports equipment or treats. They found monthly budgets confusing, since they don’t manage regular expenses, and realised they need easier examples like pocket money. Using the Six Thinking Hats technique, they learned how to solve a problem with budgeting. As Future Savers...
